Periodically throughout summer I will be opening up my house and inviting the teens and their friends over to my house to watch faith based films. We will watch the movie then discuss it. There is a lot more than meets the eye with all of these movies.
The most advanced way of making a point to someone in Jesus day was by telling a parable. Jesus told about 60 parables, and many people didn’t understand what he was saying at the moment, but after they thought about it for a while they knew. Today movies are the most advanced way of making a point in the 21st century: look at movies like “Super Size Me” or even “Star Wars”. These movies make you think about things you wouldn’t normally think about and they take you places you would never image simultaneously getting a point across to the audience by telling a story.
I pray that your teen will be able to make it over to our house when we open it up, and feel free to let them bring a friend or 5. I really want to pack the place out every night! If you have any questions just let me know!
