CIY-MOVE

I am really looking forward to this summer. We are going to CIY MOVE which will have over 20,000 students at 24 different conferences! It’s hard to even describe MOVE because it is so intense. No really in tents ^ ! I’ve tried to look at some questions you might have and help give you a better picture of what MOVE will be like.

What week and where are we going for MOVE? We are going to Tennessee 6 at Lee University on July 25th – 29th.

Are we doing anything else besides going to MOVE? Yes we are going white water rafting! The cost for this is in the total amount for the event.

What about the lodging at MOVE? Let’s start with where they will stay. Everyone will be staying in college dorm rooms. Our guys and girls each have separate dorms where they will stay.

What about the food at MOVE? They will be eating in the dining center on campus. They offer a ton of choices for each meal. The cost for each meal is included in the price you pay for conference.

So what do we do every day at MOVE? Each day starts off with a session called Encounter that introduces the theme of the day and what Scripture has to say about it. After listening to a speaker, they will go out and do thier own devotion (using the booklet) on the theme. From there the students go into D-Groups, which is basically a group of 10-12 students and an adult teacher that explores the day’s theme more deeply. The lessons provide a lot of interaction and discussion without a ton of lecture. In the early afternoon there is either a General Session where everyone gathers together to hear a comedian or other speaker or an elective class time with several different options for you to choose from. The rest of the afternoon is free time. There is no organized recreation at MOVE. They will be able to do anything from join a pick-up game of basketball to take a nap or hang out with thier friends. After free time and dinner, begins the evening session. The worship is incredible! MOVE flies in speakers from all over the country, and they are always challenging and interesting. After the evening session, we will go and have a discussion time with just our youth group. It is the last thing of the day, and we get a chance to talk about the way that God was able to move in our lives throughout day. This is probably one of the best times of the day. Then it’s back to the dorms to try and get rested and ready to go again!

Thursday afternoon is a little different. We will have a half day of extended recreation. We will have some things planned for the afternoon, and we will get out and look at some cool things in the area.

MOVE IS INCREDIBLE!!!

The cost is $300 – Make sure they participate in the fundraisers we do. If money is the thing that will keep them from coming, tell them to get a job and I’ll help them figure out the rest! Don’t let CASH be the reason why they sit at home and dream about all the fun we are having!!
